PRP & PRF
What Is PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin)?
PRF, or Platelet-Rich Fibrin , is an advanced regenerative treatment that uses a patient’s own blood to promote healing and tissue regeneration. Unlike PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) , which relies on platelets suspended in liquid, PRF is a more natural option that uses the fibrin matrix to create a gel-like substance. This substance contains high concentrations of platelets, white blood cells, and growth factors, which play a key role in accelerating tissue repair, reducing inflammation, and stimulating healing.
How Does PRF Work?
PRF is created by drawing a small amount of the patient’s blood and processing it in a centrifuge. The centrifugation process separates the blood components, concentrating platelets and growth factors into the fibrin matrix. This PRF is then injected into the target area, where it can promote
faster healing, regeneration, and tissue repair.
PRF Applications:
Joint Pain & Injury
PRF is increasingly used in orthopedics and sports medicine to treat conditions like arthritis, tendonitis, and ligament injuries. By stimulating the body’s natural healing processes, PRF can reduce pain, improve mobility, and promote tissue regeneration in the affected area.
Hair Restoration
In hair loss treatments, PRF is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles, improve hair density, and encourage new hair growth. It’s particularly effective for those with androgenic alopecia (pattern baldness) or thinning hair.
Aesthetic Treatments
PRF is also used in facial rejuvenation and skin care treatments to stimulate collagen production, reduce wrinkles, and enhance skin texture. It’s sometimes referred to as a "vampire facial" when used on the face.
PRP Treatment for Joint Pain and Hair Loss
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy is a regenerative treatment that uses your own blood to promote healing in areas with pain or damage. In the process, blood is drawn, processed to concentrate platelets, and then injected back into the targeted area.
For joint pain
PRP is used to treat conditions like arthritis or tendon injuries by stimulating tissue repair and reducing inflammation, helping to ease pain and improve mobility over time. It’s often used for knees, shoulders, elbows, and hips.
For hair loss
PRP is injected into the scalp to stimulate hair follicles, encouraging hair growth and improving hair density. It's especially effective for conditions like androgenic alopecia (pattern baldness).
PRP treatments are minimally invasive with little downtime, but multiple sessions may be
needed for optimal results.
Benefits of PRF Over PRP
Natural Fibrin Matrix
The fibrin in PRF provides a scaffold for cells to attach and grow, potentially leading to more sustained and longer-lasting healing.
No Additives
PRF is made without any additives, so it is considered a more natural treatment compared to PRP.
Fewer Injections
Since PRF provides a more concentrated form of healing components, it may require fewer treatments compared to PRP for some conditions.
Is PRF Safe?
Yes, PRF is safe because it uses your own blood, reducing the risk of allergic reactions or complications. It's a minimally invasive procedure with little to no downtime, though the effects and recovery time can vary based on the condition being treated.
